Karris Golden is a professional writer, editor and award-winning journalist. With more than two decades of experience, her work has appeared in a variety of newspapers, magazines, journals and books. During her career, she has served as a newspaper reporter and editor, marketing professional and editor of more than two dozen books.
After earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism and electronic media from Wartburg College, Karris joined the staff at the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Courier. While there, Karris attended graduate school. She earned a Master of Arts degree in English literature and creative writing from the University of Northern Iowa. Her thesis, The Place My Words Are Looking For, won UNI's first place award for Outstanding Creative Master’s Thesis.
In 2001, Karris went to part-time status at The Courier and continues to write a weekly column, On Faith. She also continues to contribute regularly to a variety of print and online publications and writes the blog, Us Girls.
Karris's free time is spent with her daughter. Their shared hobbies include running, reading, writing, motorcycling, bicycling, photography and traveling.
